I am angry

This morning ICE shot and killed another person in Minneapolis. An observer. Presumably a natural-born American citizen. Who was on the ground—held there by multiple ICE agents—when shots were fired.
I am angry.
Once again authorities call for calm while information that can be used to villainize the victim evidence is gathered.
I am angry.
The ‘worst of the worst’ includes children.
I am angry.
Once again the killing was caught on video. We are already being told to question what we see with our own eyes.
I am angry.
Whistles, shouts and tear gas fill the air. Fear fills hearts and minds. Unarmed civilians guard their neighbors against masked, heavily armed agents.
I am angry.
That the world still turns while so many lives are disrupted and under threat is disorienting. The expectation that life goes on feels dismissive. Cruel, even.
I am angry.
Constitutional rights are selectively applied and enforced. Peaceful protest is met with force.
I am angry.
There is footage of ICE agents forcibly taking phones from witnesses who captured video of the incident.
I am angry. I hope you are too.
