Work with Me
Partnership, collaboration, and sustainable philanthropy
To me, philanthropy is more than a job or something nice to do. It is a way of life, reflecting my belief that supporting one another is essential to our individual and collective well being.
At its core, philanthropy is humans helping other humans—which I believe is the greatest purpose of, and source of meaning in, our lives. In addition to the thoughts and reflections I share here, I work with nonprofits and fundraisers who recognize the need for fundraising to embrace love for humanity—by being more human‑centered, collaborative, and sustainable, and less transactional and focused solely on dollars—and who are ready to build systems that reflect that.
How I might help
My consulting and coaching work focuses on four main areas:
Fractional development leadership
I partner with nonprofit organizations that need senior‑level fundraising support but aren’t ready to add full‑time development staff. I coach and train leaders, teams and boards; together, we design and strengthen fundraising programs—especially major and principal gifts—to fit your organization’s mission, budget needs, culture, and values.
Major & principal gifts coaching
Coaching gift officers, development leaders, and teams toward stronger donor relationships and better results is among my favorite and most satisfying work. Together, we work to refine skills, review and prioritize portfolios, prepare for donor conversations, and develop strategies that center the humanity of both the donor and the fundraiser. I am incredibly proud of the teams I have led and the individuals I have had the privilege of coaching. Could you be next?
Coaching and advisory support for CEOs and boards
For executive leaders, board members, and others looking to increase their comfort and success around fundraising, I offer coaching and advisory support. Together, we’ll look at how your values show up in your fundraising, the beliefs and barriers that can hinder meaningful conversations about giving, how roles and boundaries are best established for long-term success, what it means to co-author meaningful giving experiences with donors and prospects, and what might need to shift so your organization’s approach centers the humanity of your supporters and teams.
I root my coaching and consulting in collaboration and partnership. Rather than arriving with a cookie-cutter playbook or plan, we’ll work together to better understand your unique opportunities and challenges, your people, and your aspirations, and build from there.
Speaking and workshops
Speaking is the newest area of my work but quickly becoming one of my favorites. After years of avoiding it, I finally and intentionally faced my fears of public speaking. Since then I’ve had the privilege of presenting at the Association of Fundraising Professional’s ICON and the Dallas-Fort Worth Philanthropy in Action Conference, and can honestly say it’s become one of my favorite ways to connect with and support fundraisers.
Equitable pricing
Because I care deeply about equity and recognize that organizations of all sizes do incredible work, I use a sliding‑fee approach based on your organizational budget. Meaningful support should be available to organizations of all sizes and at all stages of development.
How this connects to Love for Humanity
My writing and my consulting/coaching work stem from the same commitment: keeping humanity at the center of philanthropy. Through Love for Humanity, I explore ideas, share trends and research that are shaping the nonprofit sector, and ask hard questions about the state of fundraising and philanthropy.
If you’d like to be in conversation
If any of this resonates—if you’re:
An executive director, board member, or nonprofit executive wondering how to resource your mission in a more human‑centered, sustainable way.
A development leader looking for fractional support to sustain, strengthen, or grow your program.
A gift officer or team member who wants coaching around the real‑world art and science of major and principal gifts.
